Blame/thank kiapurity for this one, and I disclaim any responsibility for reactions occuring thereafter.
Since I apparently know very few people on LJ, don't take it personally if I fail at answering these questions pertinently in your specific case. :p

1. I'll respond with something random I like about you. 2. I'll tell you what song/movie reminds me of you. 3. I'll name something we should do together. 4. I'll say something that only makes sense to you and me (or just me). 5. I'll tell you my first/clearest memory of you. 6. I'll leave you a quote that is somehow appropriate to you. 7. I'll ask you something that I've always wondered about you. 8. If I do this for you, you must post this on your journal. You MUST.
Do this, NOW.

Oops, wasn't I working on Mahoraba Guidebook? :p
Anyway, yep. Me and Akuun (Akuun and I?) are finally done with this sucker. It's ready for ZA WORLDO to know now. :p
http://mangatracker.kicks-ass.net:6969/torrents/QI-Neko.torrent?info_hash=427bd7fff844b65fb2269fb37469aee9deb01317
There is a dedicated FTP download login for it as well, but since this weighs in at all of 12 megs, I'll probably only release it to people who've reported to me in the past about Mahoraba distro and/or people I trust who can seed better than I.
Visit the forums! http://www.hiyokonogao.tk
-- and that's that for now
[edit: thanks to a certain careful visitor, Amazon.jp seems to be confirming a 4/06 release date for Mahoraba vol. 11. they are taking pre-orders. i am in trouble, time-wise. but, i suppose since the guidebook came out august last year, i can put that aside a little more and make vol. 11 a priority.
especially if it's the end of the series. my goodness.]Current Mood: detritus Current Music: Evolution (Boom Bass Ayumix) - Ayumi Hamasaki

Here's a rundown of how much I accomplished today, from 9:30pm to 1am:
wakiyakutengoku (2 pages) pages 12 - 17
...and that's it.
This is definitely far more information-intensive than the normal manga. I'm not sure if my 1.5x estimate holds any more.
Within that time span, I normally churn out a chapter.
And I'm torn. I really, REALLY could use an editor right now (to be honest, to offload the majority of the work :p), BUT I also have a fairly not-simple font scheme/patchwork thingy going.
Thus, it shall continue at this snail's pace for however long it takes... or not. Hopefully I'll get used to eyeballing a lot of this stuff, and things'll pick up.
I'll try to post more information in the forums.

While I wouldn't consider the personal events that've been enveloping me in the past weeks traumatic or tragic, it was enough to really throw me for a loop.
And, as is usual, I generally make no mention of bad stuff floating around, as I generally don't have an interest in spreading bad moods.
I still haven't forgotten those of you who're looking forward to the Guidebook. I do have to confess something, though - thanks in part to the aforementioned distress, I've wound up spending time on, of all things... Maple Story.
Yes, that's right. An MMORPG.
That's how you know I'm REALLY in trouble. ;)
And I'm sorry again that I couldn't offer a fixed schedule like you're used to.
But this has gone on long enough.
The public desires its fix, and there is no excuse for what has (not) happened.

I'm gonna have to put aside translation work for now.
I've inexplicably woken up with major head pains, and it hasn't gone away after a few hours, food, and warm bath.
Hopefully, this postponement should be nothing more than a few more hours, but this stuff normally goes away fairly quickly. That it's persisting is cause for worry.

Here's a brief heads-up on what's going on with Hiyoko no GAO 雛のGAO挺身隊 lately.
- The forums, as Stormsguard mentioned, are going to be down for the next several days as he works out payment issues. That's right, pay - his hosting of our forum is not free. As it comes out of his pocket, and considering what he does in the background in terms of maintenance, ON TOP of being a newly-wed and pretty darn sick, I and him are not very understanding of people who give him a hard time.
He will send e-mails when the forum returns, and I'll post here as well.
- Quarter Iceshop's Neko-Reset (a series of Touhou doujinshi) is nearing completion. I'm working with Akuun (and Stormy, in spirit) on tackling some residual issues. I think most of you will be glad I'm not doing my normal hackjob on editing, as that's not in my hands. ;)
- In the pipeline from me, personally, is: everyone wanted more Mahoraba, so here it is. NOT VOLUME 11. ;) It's the official Mahoraba fanbook, scans courtesy of [Moe] and upload from (I forget? Sorry?). It's a larger undertaking - pretty text-intensive, and quite a bit heftier (more than 1.5x a normal volume?).
I can't set a firm schedule like I used to, as I'm not at a point where I can throw things aside and power through it in a week. I'll try to work on it as fast as possible, though.
After that, there's a personal favor I have to tend to. If the requester approves, I'll detail what it is and release it through HnGAO later.
I'll be open to recomendations from there on in, but please note that most suggestions I've received over time have been lost, mostly due to my being out of sorts as a state of being. If you want me to translate something, assemble a hopeful project team (no need for commitments at that point) sans translator for consideration; if you have a full team, simply clear the project with me. (If you don't need me to translate, I'm generally a rubber stamp.)
- Remember, for any new HnGAO project, you need to discuss with me the person or people who'll be completing the duties necessary - but, from now on, I'll also require a commitment from each member for the duration of the project. (Nothing formal, just a "I'm in it and I mean it" statement of sorts.)
Due to unfortunate circumstances, the Suzuka project has been terminated - while I do not fault anybody on that team for events beyond their control, it made me realize an enhanced need for accountability.
- Finally, Hiyoko no GAO is always in dire need of translators. Jap-Eng is preferred, and I'm willing to work with those who are less than confident in their abilities. You're also not required to try to keep the insane pace I did with Mahoraba. ;)
Other translators that are desirable are Ch-Eng and Kor-Eng, though I'll ask for a somewhat similar measure of language ability (at least be able to read the stuff, even with heavy dictionary reference). Please be aware that your workload is entirely determined by your discussions with the project team(s) you work with - and you're encouraged to form your own teams to tackle what you want to see done.

There's been some damage to the HnGAO forums.
It'll be down tomorrow for recovery purposes. (or so we hope it only takes a little)
In the meantime, I reiterate one of Stormsguard's comments:
Use www.hiyokonogao.tk. Even though Stormy commented earlier on here that it's up at dragonhearth's root, I'd still like everyone to use the .tk.
It may seem like a pain, but it's actually for your convenience that you use that.

I sympathize with my icon's namesake.
Kaguya has just trumped Ran in terms of records of futility.
For the clueless, the latest game I'm ranting about is Shoot the Bullet - a shooting game where, instead of shooting back at enemies, your job is to photograph them.
Weird idea? Implemented very well.
Anyway, you have to get a certain number of pictures of a character to finish a particular mission. If you get hit or run out of time, you have to redo it. And, of course, nobody's gonna make it easy for you.
Anyway, I had a prior all-time worst of 500~ pictures of Ran, in an attempt to get seven.
But Kaguya trumped that - 1407.
And why icon's namesake? Mokou and Kaguya are, literally, eternal rivals. Neverending life, neverending hate.

No, I didn't suddenly turn female.
Whatever this latest thing that hit me is, it seems to have managed to do a number on my nasal membranes. Alongside the usual "whoa, reality is swimming~" and general malaise, I've been springing an exceptional number of nosebleeds.
Oh, and a general lack of sleep isn't helping much either.
